Planning and Building Applications
Surveying and mapping are key to the planning and building process. Architects and planners are required to submit not only site and location plans, but accurate drawings with sufficient detail to describe what is intended by the application.
Site topographic surveys are often required to establish the position of features which are not depicted on Ordnance Survey mapping . Site level surveys may also be needed. In addition, a topographic survey can provide land contour detail to enable new dwellings and buildings to be more naturally located within the site and avoid expensive cut and fill.
Site surveys, including the Ordnance Survey base layer, can be provided to architects, architectural technicians or planners. All drawings are quality control checked before being dispatched as printed copy, AutoCAD or PDF formats.
If required, plans can be prepared ready for submission on paper to the Local Authority or in pdf format for uploading to the Scottish e-planning portal.
